Terms of Service
Effective date: July 2026 · Last updated: July 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of MENO, an AI-powered education platform operated by Royal Impact (Pty) Ltd ("MENO", "we", "us"), a company registered in South Africa. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use MENO.
2. Who may use MENO
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
- Learners under 18 may register only with the verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian, whose identity is verified at registration. The guardian accepts these Terms on the minor's behalf and is responsible for supervising their use of the platform.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
3. The service and the role of AI
MENO provides AI tutors, learning content, simulations, practice tools, and portfolio features across several learning journeys. The AI tutors are designed to support Socratic learning; however, AI-generated content may occasionally be incomplete or incorrect. MENO is an educational aid and is not a substitute for professional advice (including but not limited to legal, medical, financial, or career advice). You are responsible for independently verifying anything you rely on outside the platform.
4. Your content and recordings
- You retain ownership of the work, recordings, uploads, and other content you create or submit ("Your Content").
- You grant MENO a limited licence to store, process, transcribe, and analyse Your Content solely to operate the platform and provide the features you use (for example, giving you feedback on a recorded interview). We handle Your Content as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Voice and recording features are optional. Text alternatives are available throughout the platform.
- You must not upload content that is unlawful, infringes another person's rights, or that you do not have the right to share.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to breach, probe, or circumvent the platform's security, extract secrets, or execute code or commands outside the intended learning tools.
- Attempt to manipulate the AI into producing harmful, unlawful, or deceptive output, or use the platform to harass, defraud, or harm others.
- Submit another person's work as your own, or use the AI to produce work you misrepresent as independently created where honest effort is required.
- Scrape, resell, or redistribute platform content, or place unreasonable automated load on the service.
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or eligibility.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
6. Intellectual property
The platform, its software, curriculum, designs, and branding are owned by MENO or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive right to use the platform for your own learning. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the platform except as expressly permitted.
7. Fees and subscriptions
Some features may require a subscription or wallet balance. Where fees apply, the price and billing terms will be shown before you are charged. Fee-related terms (including refunds, renewals, and free-access programmes) are subject to the specific plan you select.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, and without limiting your rights under the Consumer Protection Act where they apply, MENO is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform, or for the accuracy of AI-generated educational content. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using MENO and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the platform and its users. On termination, your right to use the platform ends, and your data is handled as set out in the Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts, subject to any alternative dispute-resolution process agreed in writing.
